About the Opportunity

Seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with a strong foundation in public accounting and real estate accounting. This role is ideal for someone looking to leverage their experience supporting real estate, property management, construction, or development clients while gaining hands-on exposure to a large and diverse property portfolio.

The position offers involvement in financial reporting, month-end close, property accounting, and operational finance while working alongside an experienced accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review property-level financial activity, operating expenses, and tenant billings
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and GAAP
  • Assist with audit requests and financial reporting requirements
  • Partner with operations and property management teams to resolve accounting issues
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience required
  • Experience working with real estate, construction, property management, or developer clients strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and general ledger accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • MRI, Yardi, or other real estate accounting software experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
